"Welcome to the 2008/09 LDBS SCITT Graduates Ceremony "
3rd July 2009

The London Diocesan Board School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) course began in 1999 and is now in its 10th year of training high quality graduates to become successful, confident and effective teachers. The SCITT is solely based in Church of England Primary schools so the trainees have a unique opportunity to work in a Christian environment, teaching children from a wide range of multi ethnic and multi cultural backgrounds.

It is without a doubt an intensive year - stimulating, very hard work and full of challenges and opportunities. However, it is sincerely hoped that the trainees also find that they are inspired, motivated and excited by what they have achieved and have their commitment to teaching confirmed.

The trainees have all worked extremely hard this year and we congratulate them on their success and wish all our newly qualified teachers good luck and every success in the future.

Smile - know the children; they will never forget how you make them feel. Be Flexible; listen to change. Want the best; have high expectations and instill it in them. Strive to be that special teacher; inspire and excite children about learning. Think about the individual need of the children; no two children/class are the same. Be resilient; bounce back when you get a knock. Don't be negative; be positive. Have a good laugh; Support and if you don't know something, ask.
